EUROPATH WIDAL Plus Test Procedure |
|
1) Place one drop of the patient’s serum to be tested on four reaction circles of the slide and one drop of isotonic saline and positive control onto the remaining reaction circles of the slide. 2) Add one drop of ‘O’ ‘H’, ‘AH’ & ‘BH’ antigens to the drop of patient’s serum taken on the slide and one drop of ‘H’ antigen to the controls. 3) Mix the contents of each circle uniformly over the entire circle with separate mixing stick. 4)
Rock the slide gently back & forth and observe for Agglutination
macroscopically at 1 minute. INTERPRETATION Agglutination
is a positive test result and indicates the presence of detectable levels
of corresponding antibody in the patient’s serum. No Agglutination is a Negative test result and indicates the absence of detectable levels of corresponding antibody in the patient’s serum. |
