EUROTEX CRP

Slide test for C-reactive Protein

Test Procedure

QUALITATIVE METHOD

SEMI QUANTITATIVE METHOD

Place one drop of sample/ controls onto separate reaction circles of the glass slide.

1

Using isotonic saline prepare serial dilutions of the serum sample 1:2, 1:4,1:8,1:16 and so on pipette each serum dilution onto separate reaction circles of the slide.

Add one drop of EUROTEX CRP latex reagent to the sample controls on the slide.

2

Add one drop of EUROTEX crp latex reagent to each dilution of the serum sample.

Using a mixing stick mix the sample and  EUROTEX CRP latex reagent uniformly over the entire circle

3

Using a mixing stick mix the sample and the latex reagent uniformly over the entire circle.

Immediately start a stop watch Rock the slide gently back and forth.

4

Immediately start a stopwatch. Rock the slide gently back and forth.

Observe for agglutination macroscopically at two minutes.

5

Observe for agglutination macroscopically at two minutes.

INTERPRETATION

Agglutination is a positive test result and indicates the presence of detectable levels of CRP

No Agglutination is a negative test result and indicates the absence of detectable levels of CRP

CRP conc. (mg/dl) =0.6xD

Where D = Highest dilution of serum showing agglutination.
